Month of September: The Life of struggle and Perseverance. May God use this blog to bless your life with His Word.
This is an excerpt of the daily devotionals I translate from Arabic from the Book "The Bible in reality of our life" for late Father Matta El Meskeen.
"From the practical standpoint, if the Christian man is keeping alert in prayer, and his bible is read and his faith in Christ is inflamed, the devil impossibly can come near him nor dare to introduce ideas to him and lusts die before they reach man's heart."
Dear reader: Please share your reflections. Have a blessed weakend!
God Bless
Last night a pastor commented on how too many Christians live in defeat and think it's normal... we say things that allude to this defeat instead of standing on the promises of God.... in a previous study of Ephesians what stood out to me most was "Stand therefore" ... we have the armour of God to protect us when the enemy comes against us through others with things that may hurt or offend us. We have the helmet of Salvation and therefore the mind of Christ, the breastplate of righteousness able to guard our emotions and the shield of faith... what I'm trying to say here, is we can let things get to us, or we can choose to say, I'm not going to let that comment get to me.. If we know who we are in Christ ; loved, saved, chosen, called out of darkness... and more... then when others come against us with negative comments it should not affect us too much, it would be disadvantageous to us if we stewed on those comments. Whatever is worthy, whatever is true, whatever is good think on these things..(Phillipians 4 I think).... knowing the word is key... prayer of course, communion with God through, is also important... we have that advantage, to go before HIs throne, thanks for the reminder... reading the word is good and knowing the word... we can know of God but have no communion with Him... please prayer for me that my prayer life would increase!
