Month of August: The life of the Word and Prayer

"Hearing here is not the ears' hearing, but it is the hearing of Spirit. The alert heart with spiritual ears is immediately open to the Word. God does not ask us for ears only, but ears with heart. The word is light, but I am darkness, so what makes darkness obey the light? The Divine must unite with the human for the human to take from God and for God to control the body."
