This is an excerpt of the daily devotionals I translate from Arabic from the Book "The Bible in reality of our life" for the late Father Matta El Meskeen.
"The Christian man cannot love his neighbor, and subsequently it is impossible to have the strength to love his enemy, only by pretending to have the will and determination for that. He must first love God with all the heart, the intellect, the soul and the strength; thus there is no love left for the self to enjoy and glorify. At this point, the Christian man will no longer love others out of his love nor from his self, but out of the flowing Love of God freely given to those who deserve it and those who do not, for the neighbor as well as the enemy."
